Infineon TDM22545DXUMA1: A 160 A OptiMOS Power Stage for Dense Point-of-Load Rails
The Infineon TDM22545DXUMA1 is an OptiMOS non-isolated point-of-load power-stage module. It accepts 4.25–16 V at the input, regulates an adjustable 0.225–3 V rail and can deliver up to 160 A, with a peak power rating around 480 W. The module sits in a 72-LGA body that is only 10 × 9 × 5 mm.
Integrated power stages like this one cut layout risk on multiphase CPU, GPU and ASIC supplies. Gate drive, MOSFET die and current sensing live inside a single package, so the designer mainly manages PWM timing, output capacitors and thermal vias under the LGA.
Remote on/off and an enable pin simplify sequencing. Keep the PWM and sense traces short, pour a solid ground under the module and use a temperature-aware current limit. At 160 A, even a few milliohms of plane resistance become a voltage drop that shows up in load regulation.
Thermal design is the real limit. Plan copper, airflow and heatsinking for the continuous current you need, not only the headline rating. A short thermal survey at max ambient and max load is worth more than a datasheet glance.
When buying through independent channels, confirm the OptiMOS marking, the LG-MLGA-72-5 package and the tape-and-reel lot code against Infineon documentation before release.
